Fall Break was a welcomed rest from the day-to-day stress of life. Hopefully, everyone was able to rest up and prepare for the next eight weeks — if it wasn’t enough of a break, be prepared for a week of fun.

From Monday, Oct. 24 to Saturday, Oct. 29, Student Activities and Orientation (SAO) will be hosting the annual Fall Fest. For this week, Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and departments are encouraged to host a variety of events that celebrate the fall season.

Every event is unique and varied, meaning that everyone can find something that will interest them and take part in. Here is a look at some of these events:

The Latinx Student Association will be hosting Painting with LXSA on Monday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 6 pm. Everyone is invited to come out to the Moose to join some canvas painting and enjoy some hot chocolate.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 7 to 9:30 pm, a giant collaboration between the Advantage Center, History Club, AQ Pride and AQ Democrats will take place as they host a Zombie Escape Room. Students will be able to showcase their problem solving skills as they save the universe from a deadly virus.

The Aquinas Chemistry Society will be hosting ‘Find the Missing Ingredient: Cookie Taste Testing’ on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 4 pm. They will have a variety of cookies, each of which will be missing one ingredient in the recipe. Tasters will guess which one is missing, and if they are correct win a prize!

Also on Wednesday at 3 pm, the Sustainability Center and Sustainable Market Club will help combat fast fashion with their Fix-It Fair. Each attendee will receive a free sewing kit and learn from skilled community members how to sew, hem, patch and fix buttons.

AQ Housing and Residence Life will be hosting Costume Dodgeball and Fall Fun on Thursday, Oct. 27. This event will begin at 8:30pm, and players will not only get to compete in dodgeball, but partake in a fall photoshoot, win prizes and enjoy cider with donuts.

The Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity invites students to join them on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.. They will be painting sugar skulls and creating marigolds out of tissue paper for their ofrenda altar in the Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel.

This year’s Fall Fest is sure to be a fun time, so head to as many events as you can.
