Have you ever been interested in learning an instrument? If not, do you enjoy listening to music? What about going to concerts? Did you know that there are around 80 different careers and opportunities available to casual or professional musicians? Even if you don’t know anything about music, Aquinas has plenty of opportunities for you to start your journey.

Consider checking out the Aquinas Music Department as well as the Music Club. No matter your musical experience, we would love to have you. It is a low-commitment club that allows for tons of information to be shared and many opportunities for performances for musicians of all levels, beginner or expert.

College Chorus, Women’s Chorus, College Strings, College Band, Jazz Band and Chamber Strings are all accepting new members. If you would like to join one of these groups, visit the Music Department website and to find your desired ensemble professor. You do not have to be in an ensemble to join the music club, but it is highly encouraged. Music is alive at AQ and we want you to be a part of it in any way possible!

We are still in the preliminary stages of fully getting this club underway, but look for more news in the coming future — not just upcoming performances, but different events and trips put on by the music club. Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 15th at 4:30 p.m. in Kretschmer Recital Hall of the Art and Music Center.

If you have any further questions about the club, feel free to reach out to the Music Club Student Board Members:

  • President – Julian Lafontsee
  • Vice President – Sergio Alejos
  • Secretary – Ehl P’Simer
  • Treasurer – Mark Musgrave III

Upcoming events:

  • International Drumming Circle introduction on Nov. 15 at 4:30 P.M.
  • “Music After 10”: Christmas Caroling on Nov. 15 at 4:30 P.M.
  • AQ Jazz concert on  Nov. 11 at 7:30 P.M.
