A Single Armrest Made For Two

There were two empty seats,
Between us.
Not one would move in,
To close the gap.
Sharing one armrest made for one,
Is not possible,
As we are no closer,
Than strangers who sit,
For the first time together,
With no moment,
With no space,
To slump in relaxation,
Due to the single armrest made for two.
