The best weekend of the year has come and gone once again! AQ Homecoming 2023 was a huge success. In case you missed it, let’s take a look at what occurred across campus this weekend.
Aquinas’s athletic teams had a big day on Saturday, drawing big crowds around the campus’s festivities. The men’s and women’s soccer teams have been integral parts of AQ’s Homecoming activities, and each team had big showings! The women’s team won 3-0 against Grace Christian University and the men’s team recorded a 6-0 win against Goshen College. As one of the newer teams on campus, men’s rugby dominated Trine University’s team with a 105-6 win. While on the road, the women’s volleyball team also recorded a big win against Lourdes University, ending the game in only three sets. The school’s dance and cheer teams also performed with their alumni alongside the drumline during half-time of the men’s soccer game.
Throughout the week, students at Aquinas voted on who their 2023 AQ Top Saints were for the senior class. After the conclusion of the women’s soccer game, the court was presented to the crowd where the 2023 winners, Ernesto Lopez and Grace Maguire, were announced.

There were also several non-athletic events that took place on campus on Saturday. Students and alumni were able to participate in AQ Tours & Trivia, where participants were driven around campus on a golf cart and had the chance to win prizes. At the Art & Music Center, a reception was held for the opening of the Alumni Art Exhibit, which will be open for viewing until Oct. 13. In the library, the Gilot Art Exhibit was also displayed, showcasing visual arts experiences that can impact the lives of students, faculty, staff, and the community. The Multicultural Reunion took place in Donnelly Center, celebrating the diverse cultural, spiritual, personal and social identities that make up the Aquinas College community.
At the center of it all, Holmdene Lawn held the main stage tent, better known to the AQ community as the beer tent. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., AQ students and alumni were entertained by the AQ Jazz Band and Drumline, Conrad Shock and more. Food trucks, games, a pop-up shop and a caricature artist were present for participants as well.
See you all next year at AQ Homecoming 2024!
