Aquinas College’s one act student directed plays have officially begun production! The auditions happened last week and the Theatre Department has picked its actors for its 5 one act plays scheduled to be performed this November! 

The list of the plays and actors are as followed: 

The Actor’s Nightmare (A comedic play inspired by a stage actor’s worst nightmare, forgetting lines, direction, and rehearsal instruction. This one act play is a comedy!)

For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls (This is a parody of the famous play, The Glass Menagerie. Southern belle, Amanda, tries her best to take care of her hypochondriacal son Lawrence, and her brother Tom’s misadventures. Amanda tries to face everything with “charm and vivacity,” but in reality, she’s losing her mind.)

All of This (This is an original play written by Aquinas student Hannah Morey! It follows the life of a young student named Mia, and her wild counterpart “Wild Mia”, who has no filter and often says things that come to mind instantly, regardless of consequences.)

Waking Nightmare (An adaptation of the myth of Phaedra. It focuses on mental health, memory, and how to live after witnessing a tragedy.)

Adventurers Anonymous (A play surrounding 5 women overcoming obstacles in their lives, with references to the D&D game!)

These plays range from comedies, to parodies, to drama, and even student Hannah Morey’s own personal work All Of This will be performed! Be sure to mark your calendars if you’re interested in seeing any of these shows! Each show will be performed twice through December 7-10. See you there!
