Fall Jazz Concert
November 10, 2023 – 7:30 PM
The season is changing and if you’re feeling a little “under the weather”, feel free to come out and support the Aquinas College Jazz Band on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 7:30 PM. The concert will consist of nine songs, featuring a selection of our talented jazz musicians. In the middle of the program, there will be an intermission with cider, donuts, and other refreshments provided in the Art & Music Center lobby. This event is only jazz and will be directed by Dr. Tom Polett, director of bands at Aquinas College. This event is free of charge.
The previous performance of the Aquinas College Jazz Band took place back on September 29, 2023, at 7:30 PM during the Fall Ensemble Showcase. The jazz band kicked off the program with El Abrazo by Alan Baylock, followed by Thelonious Monk’s Blue Monk and Mile Davis’ Tutu. Although the jazz band portion was very lengthy, the audience sure enjoyed an amazing way to begin the concert.

AQ HIGH SCHOOL HONOR BAND DAY FINALE CONCERT
Over the years, the Aquinas College Music program has greatly grown larger than ever. Every year, the music department has had the opportunity to have a day for high schoolers to get a sneak peek of a band at the collegiate level. On Friday, November 17, selected high schoolers from all around West Michigan will spend the day at Aquinas to explore the campus and learn music for a performance later on that evening. This year we have over 90 students from 12 different high schools
