It’s that time of year again, lights are covered over towering trees, window shopping galore, markets are filled with freshly baked holiday food are appearing, there’s a chill in the air certain to turn anyone’s nose and cheeks bright red, and the official Grand Rapids Symphony is soon to put on their annual Holiday Pops concert, full of cheer and fun music for all!
You’ll expect to hear Christmas classics such as “Joy To The World”, “O’ Come All Ye Faithful”, “A Christmas Sing Along”, and “The Hallelujah Chorus” from The Messiah.
For anyone new to the Grand Rapids area, The Holiday Pops are very well known and have been in concert for decades. People all around Michigan flock to see this performance to get into the holiday cheer and brighten up their day. It has been over 25 years since the Holiday Pops were brought to Grand Rapids, and it’s a hit every year! This is a perfect opportunity for newcomers of Grand Rapids to embrace the culture and love for the holidays. There’s also an abundance of restaurants and food trucks that offer holiday themed food and treats to snack on to get into the spirit.
If you are familiar with Grand Rapids, the city tackles the holidays very seriously and besides the Holiday Pops, there is an abundance of winter activities around the city to enjoy. There isn’t a dull moment in this city during Christmas.
Music conductor Bob Bernhardt is a talent and is expected to put on a wonderful show and is enthusiastic to spread the cheer around the city. Be sure to bring your friends as well! They will not want to miss it!
Holiday Pops tickets range from 45 to 65 dollars, and the dates of the performance are on December 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. The GR symphony looks forward to seeing you!
