Aquinas’ official Global Food Fest took place last Wednesday, which was packed full of unique food options from around the world for students and faculty to try. It gave an opportunity for foreign students and local students to showcase their culture and homemade meals to the public, and each stand had their own unique dish to try. The number of attendees was spectacular as well, as the entire Wegie ballroom was packed!
There was an abundance of countries represented such as Mexico, Croatia, Ireland, Nigeria, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. And the food did not disappoint, students and faculty were able to try unique entrees such as: Stobhach (Ireland), Biryani (Pakistan), Buchty (Czech Republic), Poutine (Canada), Boorsok (Kyrgyzstan), Poffertjes (Netherlands), Tri Lece (Montenegro), Lamingtons (Australia), Empanadas (Columbia), Tiramisu (Italy), Magdelena’s (Spain), and Miso Soup (Japan). You could certainly tell everyone at each food stand put in a lot of work to make this event happen, and every dish tasted really good!

In addition, the official Aquinas K-Pop dance group put on two performances during the festival, it was a great opportunity to introduce themselves as an organization while also introducing the upbeat vibes of K-Pop music to newbies!
Overall this was another successful and informative event put on by Aquinas college and the Global Affairs Team, and we are thankful for all of the hard work and preparation done by the students and staff. If you are not a senior and missed out on the opportunity, don’t fret! Next year the festival hopes to draw an even larger crowd with an even larger variety of food and culture!
