The Aquinas Golf team has started their spring season taking to the courses and running the green!

With the start of their season taking off in the Klash in Kentucky held at Perry Park Resort, the Aquinas Men’s Golf team started out a little rocky. Placing 7th out of 8 teams in both the Saturday and Sunday matches. They soon came back at the April Fools Classic placing 4th of 8. Battling a tough match up at the Battle at the Brae at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club, they placed 8th out of 10 in both Saturday as well as Sunday.

Although the start of their spring season hasn’t been too hot, they still have the Pilot Invitational and the Ackerman-Allen Invitational both hosted in Indiana where we will be able to see their talents show out once more before the WHAC Championships.

Starting out the Aquinas Women’s Golf season, they also competed in the Klash in Kentucky matches. Not starting out super hot, they placed 9th of 9 in both matchups, but they were only able to go up from there. They succeeded in the April Fools Classic as well, winning the whole thing. However, there was success at which they ended with a placing of 3rd of 5 teams. At their next matches hosted by Lawrence Tech University, the Shootout at Stonehenge, they did another solid job, whilst placing 4th of 5 on their Friday game, but improving overnight to take 3rd of 5.

With still a few weeks left into the season, the Aquinas Women’s Golf team will also be an exciting team to keep an eye on as they still have time in their next games at the Pilot Invitational and Ackerman-Allen Invitational to pull off some high places and possible wins.

There isn’t any doubt that both the Aquinas Men’s and Women’s Golf teams have the skill and possibility to pull off some victories in these next games, which will also lead to an exciting WHAC Championship to see what our Saints will be able to walk away with this year. With new coach John Konya just taking the reins this year, there is a process to success and it feels good to say that the Golf Program is on the right track.
