Aquinas Men’s Lacrosse is off to a hot start, winning five of six games played and standing at eighth place in the NAIA rankings. The team is under new leadership with head coach Peter Treppa being promoted from assistant coach to now leading the program.
The season for the Saints started strong as they played the Ottawa University Braves. Aquinas showed extreme skill and grit, finishing strong with a final score of 26-0. The team continued their win streak to accrue and keep their national rankings in the NAIA, winning games against Missouri Baptist, Benedictine, Saint Ambrose and Tennessee Wesleyan.
After starting their season off on a high note with three opening home games, the Saints headed south to play opponents Reinhardt University and Tennessee Wesleyan University. The team split the trip, falling 6-9 after a hard fought match up against Reinhardt. The team bounced back from their tough loss as they took on the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs, taking the win 14-7.

Looking forward to the rest of the season, the team still has big goals and a lot to accomplish. “It’s been a great start to the year, but we know that we haven’t accomplished our goals yet,” freshman Evan Doan said. “The upperclassmen and coaching staff hold this team to a high standard and it shows in our play.”
With spring blooming at Aquinas College and as the semester trails on, the Saints have only six regular season games to prove themselves in a challenging conference and to continue to climb in the national rankings, with only three home games remaining.
The Saints are scheduled to face the Concordia University Ann Arbor Cardinals, ranked ninth in the NAIA, on Wednesday, April 2 before heading back home to play Taylor on Saturday, April 5 as well as host a youth night themed game, celebrating the future lacrosse Saints.
Continuing their series of home games for the season, the team is scheduled to play and expects to find competition in the sixth-ranked Madonna University Crusaders on Wednesday, April 9.
With new leadership, the Aquinas Men’s Lacrosse team continues to find success during their 2025 campaign. Accruing national rankings in the NAIA and proving themselves against other ranked opponents, the team continues to work hard and push boundaries to continue to climb in the rankings, and battle for a spot in the NAIA National Tournament.
