Wednesday, Oct. 2, marked the return of 90s night. The event encouraged students to get into the spirit by dressing in colorful 90s-themed outfits, from scrunchies and neon windbreakers to baggy jeans and funky tees.
Before the game, the announcers introduced the members of the Aquinas team with a display of flashing lights and glowing effects. Classic 90s hits set the tone for the night, including “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana and “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys.
The evening also featured a tee-shirt toss for fans and a performance by the dance team, keeping energy high between sets. Fans cheered, danced, and waved their 90s gear, creating a lively atmosphere in the gym.

“It was electric,” said Conner Shaw, capturing the excitement of the night. Skyler Davey added, “The crowd was loud and energetic, and everybody was just pumped up.” Freshman Natalie West shared her experience, saying, “It was so much fun. It was so nice to have such a big crowd here, and especially being my freshman year, first 90s Night—it was just an amazing experience.”
The event not only brought back memories of the 90s but also energized the team and the fans. Aquinas’ Women’s Volleyball team looked strong on the court as they played, with the crowd cheering every point.
The next home game will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8at 7:00 PM as they play Kuyper, giving students another chance to support the team and join in the fun.
