On Oct. 9, the Student Senate met in Nellie’s Corner for their second meeting of the 2025-26 school year.

The first order of business was the Senate getting their headshots and photos taken for the latest school year. These will soon be posted both on their social media and the student senate webpage.

The following order of business was handling a variety of executive board and advisor reports. Due to the fact the school year is still early, the reports were largely administrative and logistical. In these reports, the senate e-board discussed the praise for the new AQ advising model, a further emphasis on using Instagram for connecting with the student body and working toward incorporating more service learning trips at Aquinas.

The next order of business were updates from the Senate liaison committees. Senators have begun connecting and engaging with their departmental and organizational counterparts on campus to ensure the Student Senate is representative of the entire student body. There were not many reports due to the school year being so young. However, of particular emphasis was involving alumni to grow the Aquinas network for undergraduate students.

General business was next on the agenda. The primary discussion was around the Aquinas Chemistry Society and their trip to the annual meeting for the American Chemical Society in Atlanta, Georgia. This discussion was closed to the general student body. Furthermore, the Senate began to plan their Trunk or Treat for Oct. 24. With all business being settled, the meeting was adjourned at 1:06.
