The year 2026 has arrived and students on campus are setting resolutions to take into the new year. New Year’s resolutions are made to change, start or improve positive habits, often in embracing the fresh start idea and their personal growth.

With students being the largest population on campus, many goals focus on improving habits in the academic world, regardless of class standing.

“My New Year’s resolution is to be better at being organized and not procrastinating,” said junior TJ Jones.

However, with the large population of student athletes, some resolutions around campus have aligned towards athletic success with their sport.

“My new year’s resolution is to workout everyday in the gym,” said freshman Andrew Zimmer. Freshman Brenden Hubbell said, “My new year’s resolution is to be more competitive.”

Other resolutions have looked like focus on recovery and perseverance. “My new year resolution is to come back from injury stronger by next season” said junior Jeralyn Hoppes

In addition to mental and physical goals there have also been religious goals set around campus. “My goal this year is to grow more in my faith.” said student Alexandra Garcia.

Regardless of if the goal is academic, athletic, mental or spiritual, the students of Aquinas are entering the new year focused on self improvement.
