On Feb. 19, Student Senate met in the conference room of the Grace Hauenstein Library.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Grant Bricking. To begin, a new member, Eliana Mandarano, was formally inducted into senate.

After that, a variety of topics and issues were brought up for consideration. These included a discussion on potentially installing cameras in the halls of the dorm buildings and a red flags post about the dishwasher in Wege. The latter topic included the suggestion that a new dishwasher could potentially be installed this summer. Another point of discussion was the tables and umbrellas outside the Moose in connection to the senate’s “Spruce the Moose” campaign. Spruce the Moose is a senate led initiative to revitalize the Moose Cafe. Senate expressed an interest in purchasing 3 new umbrellas for the Moose.

There was also a brief unpacking of the recent snow removal on campus done by D&N Landscape Maintenance. It was viewed as being largely successful, with only six vehicles being towed. There was some emphasis put on potentially focusing more intently on the spots on campus that are frequently walked on.

Near the end of the meeting, there were some brief announcements about upcoming events on campus and all of the extra vehicles expected to be on campus this week.

With all topics of discussion exhausted, the meeting was adjourned at 1:11 p.m.
