On Feb. 25, Student Activities & Orientation, in collaboration with the Center for Diversity, Inclusion & Equity, held a Paint n Sip at The Moose. The event lasted from 11- 2 p.m. and invited students to stop by between classes to sip on specialty mocktails, grab a canvas, and get creative.

Although there was not a large turnout, those attending were able to enjoy a quiet environment, with the exception of light 70s rock in the background, and exercise a creative outlet. This event came right before midterms, offering a respite for students in the middle of what is sure to be a busy time.

The idea for a Paint n Sip was the result of a brainstorming session by SAO.

“We want to host more small events to connect students on campus, and we’re doing that through collaborating with other groups like the CDI&E,” said SAO member Olivia White. “We’ve seen how low student engagement has been this past year, especially since orientation.”

SAO hopes that events like this will inspire greater student participation and involvement with campus groups.

Upcoming events from SAO include a floral Lego building event for AQ’s Spring Fest, which will last from March 16 to 22.
