On March 5, Student Senate met in the Upper Donnelly Center for their third meeting of the semester.

The meeting was called to order by Senate Chair Grant Bricking at 12:02 p.m. To begin, staff from campus safety and maintenance answered questions from Senate. Topics of discussion included new signage for the parking lots that are awaiting official approval, sustainability concerns over the use of salt this winter season, and the new boiler going into the east side of Regina hall this Monday. After the discussion was concluded, Bricking briefly restated the news that Brookby had sold to the Senate.

Following this, vice chair Kate Kramm gave some updates on Spring Formal, which is on March 27 this year. These were particularly focused on the ticket deal that Senate is offering, which includes a reduced price and a drink package. She briefly touched on Senate’s budget pre-Spring Formal as well.

Academic Affairs Director Taylor Moss then provided some updates on a few topics. The first of these was Assistant Professor and Director of Theatre Production Scott Harmon being placed on leave. The reason was not disclosed. After this, she discussed the possibility of there being a new

policy for student behavior in classrooms, though there were no specifics about what the policy would entail. The final update was on acquiring baskets for Student Senate’s second annual Casino Night from various organizations on campus. Casino Night is an event put on by Student Senate involving prize-based gambling games. It will be on Friday, March 20 this year, from 6-8 p.m. in the Donnelly Center.

With all topics of discussion exhausted, the meeting was adjourned at 1:09 p.m.
