The Spring Equinox has just hit on Friday, March 20, meaning new drinks are abloom at The Moose. The cafe announced its Spring Specials lineup on Thursday, March 19 over Instagram. “It’s spring, Saints,” the AQ Dining Instagram said. “ The lovely baristas at the Moose Cafe have concocted some brand new specials to celebrate longer days and blooming flowers! The Spring Specials include an array of new shakes, one new latte flavor and a lemonade. The flavors, consisting of lavender, blueberry, mint, lemon and strawberry reflect the tastes and colors of spring.
The “Yippee Spring!” is described as “a sweet white chocolate latte with swirls of floral lavender.”
The Blueberry Fields Latte was the drink most commented on by students. Some found the flavor appealing while others were thrown off by the icy texture.
“The new drinks are awesome,” said freshman Natalia Blouin. “My favorite is the Blueberry Fields Shake. It has a really good berry flavor that I think is perfect for spring.”

Another student, sophomore Mitchell Chrapek also described the shake as being a good addition to the menu for spring.
“Overall, I didn’t really enjoy it that much,” Chrapek said. “I have a problem with The Moose’s shakes in general. They use too much ice and not enough milk so it’s more like an ice shake than a milk shake. One really good thing, though, was that I appreciated that they used real blueberries.”
The Red and Wild Boba Lemonade featured an addition that hasn’t made its way onto the menu in a while: boba pearls. It is yet to be seen how students react to this twist on such a classic sour drink.
Whatever the taste, sweet or sour, the Spring Specials at The Moose certainly have gained some attention from students.
