The second annual Regina Bowl Bash was put on by Student Senate on Aug. 27, 6-8 p.m. Students gathered to play cornhole and pickleball, meet different RSOs and enjoy free Waffle Stix provided by Senate.

Besides Student Senate, who was putting on the event, many other Registered Student Organizations (RSO) were there as well including AQ Pride, Board Game club, theSaint and Advocating for Women’s Health and Safety (AWHS).
Many students’, like seniors CJ Guillermo and Matthew Sloan, favorite activity was cornhole and when any of the students were asked if they liked the waffles, they all responded with a yes.
“The waffle stix truck is iconic, I was very grateful it was there because I was coming from a meeting and I was hungry,” Guillermo said. “The options all sounded divine and I myself got the Jalapeño Bacon and Smores but also had the luxury of trying a strawberry shortcake one and it was delicious. The guys are pretty nice who run the truck and the options are creative and nothing short of amazing.”
“The waffle stix were quite delectable,” Sloan said. “Last time I was at an event with waffle stix, I forgot to get them so it was nice to finally have that experience.”
Students were able to stop by Senate’s table to grab a ticket for two waffle stixs, valid for their choice of both a savory and a sweet waffle. While there, students could also sign up to join Student Senate as well as many of the other RSO’s present.

“Its always great seeing RSOs present at events like that with opportunity to learn more about who they are/what they do,” Guillermo said.
Michaela Faith, senior Student Senate chair, shared how Senate planned part of the event. “We all came together to discuss what we wanted Regina bowl bash to be and thought waffle stix was very representative of Aquinas,” Faith said. “It was fun talking to the waffle stix owners. They love Aquinas.”
“Prepping for the bash is stressful, honestly a lot of trial and error,” Faith said. “No matter how far in advance you plan things you still feel like it all ramps up at the end.”
Expect more events this coming semester as Student Senate is hoping to do another fireside game night as well as more events every month. This will also include “tackling AI advertising at Aquinas and continuing to develop the RSO community,” Faith said.
