The Arts and Crafts Club hosted the Hands-on Mixer on Oct. 19 during Fall Fest, their first event of the year.

The Hands-on Mixer provided various physical crafts for participating students to do, such as origami and scratch art, while dining on Panda Express and enjoying each other’s company. The event also served as a general mixer, allowing participants to meet the E-Board, which is where they got the name for the event. The E-Board members of Arts and Crafts Club were excited to roll out their first event of the semester.

“We wanted to invite the Aquinas community to see what our club has to offer,” senior Amanda Thompson, president of Arts and Crafts Club, said. “The mixer went well. We had lots of people attend our first event and saw a variety of new faces.”

The E-Board members of Arts and Crafts clubs also consist of several new faces. They are president Thompson, vice president and social media coordinator Addison Dierickx, secretary Hannah Brown and treasurer Cristian Zacharias, with Zacharias being the only E-Board member who worked with the previous leadership. Freshmen Cecilia Sanchez and Jolean Miller are newer E-Board members who are currently shadowing the current members.

The Arts and Crafts Club hopes the high attendance continues for their remaining events and can’t wait to share what the E-Board has prepared for the Aquinas community. Check out their Instagram and MyAQ pages to see when their future events are.
