Be ready to belt out to some new tunes with the windows down this summer as Grand Rapids natives, The Outer Vibe, debut their full album entitled Full Circle. They will continue spreading good vibes as they take the road to tour this summer allows them “to jump into other people’s lives and electrify them. It’s a beautiful adventure for everyone involved.”

As their release of Full Circle approaches, bassist and sound engineer, Andrew Dornoff, expresses that they “finally feel that we have abandoned all of our petty concerns and stresses and gotten back to the things that are fun about music.”

They released their EP entitled Pass It On on January 30th at Grand Rapids venue, The Intersection. The band stayed true to their local base by bringing music vacations to their local fans through their optimistic sound, carefree nature, and high energy.

Their new music is a follow-up to their 2012 album Hoka Hey, which gained traction by obtaining a spot in the top 5 songs requested on the radio in Michigan, Wisconsin and the Dakotas and licensing from ABC News’s Good Morning America.

Having worked with Joe LaPorta and Brad Dollar, who have collaborated and mastered for artists such as Vampire Weekend and The Grateful Dead, Dornoff says that, “Brad helped us realize that we make music as a vacation and adventure for the mind. Ultimately he worked as the captain of the ship and helped by steering the music in the direction that we all strive for” and he “helped capture the sound of our personalities in the music in the most natural way possible.”

Their success is only growing from here as they start touring with new music under their belt with their roots in Grand Rapids as they had started their music career at The Intersection.

Dornoff says that, “Grand Rapids functions as our bedrock, with all the support from friends and other people that are pushing for a culturally diverse and interesting city” and that they “have been honored to play some of the area’s most ambitious events alongside bands like Kongos and Cobra Starship.”

To experience the electricity of The Outer Vibe and increase your daily dose of endorphins, attend their album release show at The Intersection on May 29 featuring special guests American Wifi, Desmond Jones, and AQ alum Joey Frendo of Watching For Foxes.
