After being in school for a little over a month now, I am sure we have all  found our groove when it comes to things like classes, studying, eating at Wege, sports, and fulfilling cultural event requirements for certain courses.  However, your time here at Aquinas is not just about the daily grind, but about having some fun as well. So here are some events that you can be sure to fall into here at Aquinas this semester.

Homecoming 2015:

Taking place on Saturday, September 26, Homecoming is a day full of excitement as Alumni return home to their   alma mater to relive their glory days. Of course most of the fun is open to all as there will be sports events as well as a dance that will take place later that night

ArtPrize Tour:

On Tuesday, September 29, the Campus Life Department will take students downtown to explore this year’s ArtPrize competition. This event will take place at 6p.m. and lasts until 1p.m.

The Artistic Faith: A musical presentation on Liturgy with Liz Christian ‘11:

Liz Christian is a recording artist and liturgist who shares stories of her faith through song. This is a free event at the Arts and Music Center presented and is presented by Campus Ministry, Catholic Studies, and the Music Department. It will take place on October 1 and will go from 7:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

The Clothesline Project:

Starting on October 5, this event will provide an emotional look at the issue of violence against women. T-shirts will be hung up all around Lower Wege to represent domestic violence and why it needs to be eradicated and more closely looked at in society. This event is put on by the Women Studies Center.

Haunted Hall:

On Saturday, October 31, be sure to head towards St.Joseph the Worker Hall for a night of chills and thrills! Starting when the sun goes down, this will be a Halloween you will not forget.

Jr Saints Weekend:

One of the premiere events here at Aquinas College, Jr Saints Weekend is a time to invite your younger siblings up to enjoy a fun weekend with events, free food, and more. Starting on Friday, November 6, and lasting till November 8, this is one to not miss.  Visit the Campus Life webpage for additional information.

Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports Exhibition Game:

Sponsored by the Health and Wellness Center, this event will take place in the Sturrus Fitness Center. It starts on Monday, November 16, and goes from 6-7p.m.

AQPB Presents: Premier of Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

On Thursday, November 19th, at 11:30pm it all ends…however, make sure you sign up in time to be able to see it! This event is open to all current students at Aquinas College. AQPB will release more information as the event draws close.

Those of you frightened that Aquinas was nothing more than just classes, I hope your fears have have been lifted. For you see, your time here at Aquinas is also an experience that is meant to be enjoyed. So go to one, two, or even all of the events that have been mentioned. Though it may seem far off until graduation, your time here at Aquinas will come to end. That alone should inspire you to go, to make the most of your time here.
