Aquinas Volleyball: Maintaining a solid season

In the world of volleyball, the lady Saints have maintained a solid season, currently eight and six on the season. So far, the Saints are on their longest winning streak this season at three wins. Some of the more recent game outcomes are: a zero to three loss against Madonna University, a 2 to 3 loss against the University of Northwestern Ohio, a three to zero win against the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a 3 to 0 win against Concordia University, and a three to zero win against Siena Heights University. In addition, they defeated Lawrence Tech with score of three to zero and also defeated Marygrove College with a score of 3 to 0. They also did well at the Cardinal Stritch Wolves Invitational winning three out of their four games, each game was a three to zero win. In those four games, the team accumulated 132 kills, 519 total kills, and 32 block assists. Other games played this season include a 1 to 3 loss to Cornerstone, a 3 to 1 win against Indiana University in South Bend. a 0 to 3 loss to Davenport University, a 3 to 0 win against Indiana Tech, and a 2 to 3 loss to Lourdes University.

Leading the team in kills during the match against Madonna was sophomore Kenzie Haley with seven. Another notable player includes junior Michaela Ryan who lead the team with 12 kills against the University of Northwestern Ohio. During the Michigan-Dearborn game,  junior Miceala Hazen led in the team with 12 kills. In the Concordia game, Hazen and Ryan tied with the most kills, both executing with 10. In the Siena Heights game, sophomore Cammy Means led the kills at 11. In the game against Lawrence Tech, Senior Sierra Vantil had the most kills with seven, and leading in kills against Marygrove College were Means and Ryan, who both produced eight kills. So far this season, the Saints have accumulated over 600 kills, nearly 70 aces, and 70 total blocks.

Following their upcoming road game against local rivals Cornerstone, the Volleyball team will be taking part in the Davenport Panther Invitational where they will take on Trinity Christian College, Carroll College, Lewis & Clark State College, and St. Xavier University.

The Saints will take on rival Cornerstone tonight in an away contest at 7 p.m.
