Homecoming week started Sept. 29 and ended Oct. 2. There were tons of events thrown to get us all in the saint spirit. Events ranged from Tom DeLuca the hypnotist, which has become an annual homecoming event, to a lip sync battle in Wege ballroom. There was much fun to be had and not a moment to waste.
Not only were the students on campus involved, but our alumni and their families had events to participate in as well. Prayer, study, community and service were feelings felt throughout our campus throughout homecoming week.
A popular event held during homecoming week was the AQ Playathon. It was a fundraiser to benefit The Children’s Healing Center. The Playathon started from 6 p.m. and went on until midnight. Playathon games included board games, zumba, swing dance and more. This was an AQPB sponsored event.
Another event was the Major/Minor Mixer. This event began last year. The mixer invites members of all the different educational departments to mingle and have fun. This was a good place to talk to people in different departments and get some job ideas for the future.
Our very own Conrad Shock also played on the main stage this weekend. If you didn’t get the chance to see him at Rock the Block here was a great opportunity to listen to his soulful, inspiring songs.
Lastly, our homecoming court was chosen and our King and Queen for 2016 were crowned. The coronation took place between the men’s and women’s soccer games. Maria Moon, Casey Dickerson, Alyssa Chartier, Matt Majinska, and Nick Gregory were nominated for homecoming court this year. Congratulations to those nominated and special congratulations for Majinska and Moon for being crowned as our 2016 King and Queen.
