Fall is here, which means steaming cups of yummy flavored goodness and cute comfortable threads. My mission for this article is to answer the impossible question: Which I would rather live without: pumpkin spice and everything nice or flannels.

Now, unlike most people my age, I’m not addicted to the beautiful creation called Starbucks. Nevertheless, pumpkin spice is essential to the fall season. It’s in everything from drinks and candles to cereal and lotion. That made this decision pretty tough, but overall I would rather live without pumpkin spice.

Why you may ask? Well, I figure if I go without pumpkin spice, there’s still a large variety of other delightful flavors that I could try. Fall favorites like apple cider, eggnog, chai tea, and cinnamon are still available. However, a world without flannels is a crime in itself.

Flannels are a staple to any fall collection because, simply put, they are the best. You can dress a flannel up or down, which makes them perfect for any fall occasion such as bonfires, apple picking, hayrides, football, and more. There’s also a wide selection of fun color combinations, so anyone can find something that they love. Another perk I love about flannels, is that you can literally layer them with anything. I’m talking sweaters, vests, light jackets, t-shirts– you could even layer flannel on flannel (which I don’t recommend, but you do you).

Flannels are an iconic classic that I refuse to give up, no matter how tempting the taste of pumpkin spice may seem.
