Aquinas kicks of its homecoming week starting September 2 through 27. Unlike many schools that center football around their homecoming functions,Aquinas’s homecoming will be a salute to our women’s soccer team. Also, a joint venture of bringing back alumni and current students as a part of the Aquinas family.

In celebration of one of our beloved alumna, Christina Bivens will also be honored during homecoming week. Ms. Bivens passed away November 2014 at the age of 42. Ms. Bivens was not only an Aquinas alumna but a major influence in the Grand Rapids art community. She showed the world what it meant to be a part of the Aquinas family. Ms. Bivens will receive the outstanding Alumna award at the Aquinas College Award Gala. Her spirit will always be an inspiration to all alumni and students alike.

In addition, there are events for all, ranging from elections for our homecoming court and dance, to an all-inclusive class reunion.  Homecoming court candidates were announced at AQ’s signature Rock the Block event on September 18–seniors Elizabeth Sensing, Kailie West, Erica Utter, Ramil Collier, Nathan Schall, and Nick Evans were chosen as this year’s homecoming court candidates.  There will be something for everyone. Some new additions to this year’s functions are the blessing of the ground where our new chapel is to be constructed, and our major minor mixer, where all the different educational departments are invited to mingle. The department that has the most students and faculty in attendance will receive a covenant Aquinas prize.

Below is a list of the proceedings being held throughout the week, and while enjoying these events, don’t forget to take a moment to thank all the hard working people that have had a hand in making this year’s homecoming the best. AQPB, the Alumni Association, Student Senate, Campus life, and many more.
